Ever had a bright idea?
You know the type “we could do this!” Sat in a busy indoor play area on a wet Saturday afternoon we had the bright idea that surely we could do this better.
The play area was cramped, dirty, even dangerous looking in places, the coffee was revolting, the seats as hard to come by as they were to sit on. And yet the place was packed, the quick head counts and calculations on serviettes only helped to wet our appetites.

All the idea but none of the gear!
We trawled the net, suppliers of play equipment a plenty. Brochures arrived but didn’t move us forward. We made contact with a supplier who focused on the business not the colour of the slides. We got the re-assurance that our ideas and vision were sound. That others just like us were doing this successfully, but a 1001 other things to consider.

In it for the long haul.
Finding a building how hard can it be? Aaaargh if it wasn’t for estate agents who don’t take new businesses seriously, landlords who don’t want to meet and planners who don’t like change life could be so simple. Our play people taught us what to look for, what tricks to use to get people to take us seriously. Hours and days and months of driving and searching finally paid off. Our oasis had been found.

It is the most exciting time of all. Full steam ahead. The advice we got gave structure to the whirlwind that surrounded us for the next 21 weeks. You learn so much, meet with other operators, start to build that picture of what really works as oppose to guessing what does. We become project managers pulling together all the suppliers and products we need. Our play partners give us the direction and an objective view, never pushing, but always providing us with the contacts to see the plus and minus in every decision we make.
It is the most exciting time of all. Full steam ahead. The advice we got gave structure to the whirlwind that surrounded us for the next 21 weeks. What a week!! Everything had been set to happen this week but it actually has. Planning granted, lease signed, play equipment purchased. Now we’ve got 10000sq ft of dull grey concrete to transform and we can’t wait!

Size matters!
We knew our design was good we had worked hard with the play suppliers design team; they took our ideas on board to create a design we could see and appreciate. However seeing on paper and seeing in real life are two very different things, now its actually being built we can’t believe how big it all looks and how well it fits into the space. The team installing are working so hard on it every time you look it just gets better and better.

It’s finished and so are we!
It’s been so exciting to see how everything has come together. It’s been all hands to the pump, lots of late nights and early mornings. Hard work and more hard work, a few rows and a couple of scares but we got there. It looks fantastic we couldn’t be happier. Our staff are excited and ready to go. Tomorrow is our party day for friend’s family and a chance to say thank you to all the team that have worked with us to make this happen.
